Harvest of Healing
Here in Wisconsin and around the country, it’s harvest time. We’ve been watching the corn and soybeans grow and thrive in the fields throughout the summer. This past month the farmers have been working on harvesting their fields. My own modest garden started pouring forth an abundant supply of summer squash that I was not expecting.
How we rejoice when someone we are caring for suddenly reaps the harvest of healing. Christian Science nurses are right there with them, encouraging them with healing truths, watering their efforts towards improvement, helping to pull weeds of doubt and discouragement. Mentally, we never leave their side and our prayers affirm God’s love and care for all His children.
A loved hymn expresses the joy of healing: “We thank Thee for work in the wide harvest field, / For gladness that ripens when sorrow is healed; / Made strong with Thy goodness that meets every need, / We gather the fruit of the Sower’s good seed.”
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 150:2)
As Christian Science nurses, we are joyfully and patiently meeting the physical needs, while patient and Christian Science practitioner focus the spiritual needs. We provide an atmosphere that supports each individual’s harvest of healing.
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
(Malachi 3:10)

Donating your IRA Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to Clearview Home
Toward the end of the year you may be required to take the minimum distribution from your retirement plan. Many donors in recent years have donated their RMD withdrawal to Clearview Home. When donating your RMD as a qualified charitable distribution you will not be taxed up to $100,000.
Earmarking this income for Clearview Home is a great way to begin or expand your giving portfolio while at the same time supporting Christian Science healing.
